Experienced and motivated faculty members with international exposure in different specializations are one of the major strengths of the School. Currently, our research specializations include aerosols & climate, ocean circulation modeling, prediction of extreme weather events, tropical cyclones, storm surges & air-sea interactions, tropical waves, remote sensing & GIS applications, intra-seasonal variability, monsoon dynamics and climate change, land surface processes, satellite and physical oceanography, paleoclimatology, geochemistry, geophysics, Engineering Geology, hydro-geology, Glaciology etc. to name a few.

The School offers both undergraduate and post graduate level degree programmes besides doctoral research avenues. The ongoing programmes are designed to impart state-of-the-art education and training on both fundamental and applied aspects of Earth, Ocean and Climate Sciences besides enabling the students to carry out cutting edge research in Earth System Sciences.
